UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, } ss. EASTERN DIVISION OF THE EASTERN JUDICIAL DISTRICT OF MISSOURI. THE UNITED STATES VS Before Jeu Joy, BYRON F. BABBITT, U. S. COMMISSIONER. DEFENDANT. A. C. Ridgway, Chinese Inspector, being duly sworn, deposes and says, that he has good reason to believe, and does verily believe, that on or about the day of 190 , at said Division of said District, one Jeo Joy was a Chinese laborer,not lawfully entitled to be and remain in the did United States, for the reason that the said Jeu Joy does not have and is not provided with a certificate of identity,as provided by section 3, of the Act of March 3,1903, Contrary to the statutes in such case made and provided, and against the peace and dignity of the United States.
